What ethnicity was Jesus?

Sorry to disappoint you but he was Jewish. :) The bible is very plain about that. It gives his bloodline, Also, he HAD to be jewish to be the prophesied king. The Messiah was to be from the tribe of Judah. So if he isn't Jewish... he isn't the true Messiah
