Can anyone please tell me anything about the healthcare professionals in Steel Magnolias? ANYTHING?

I'm doing an ignment that's due tomorrow and I've got all of my questions answered but ONE. We had to answer a few questions about how diabetes was portrayed in the film, Steel Magnolias. I didn't watch the movie, because I didn't have time. (Full time job, full time school, I barely have time to study!) The actual question is: How are the healthcare professionals depicted in the film? <-- I don't need anyone to specifically answer that question, I just need to know anything about the doctors and/or nurses in the film so I can BS my way through this. Were they helpful? Did they do the right thing morally? I read somewhere that the doctor counseled Shelby against having children, but that's all I can find online. If anyone has anything they can tell me, that would be great.
